Check out these legends! The Chili Beach Clean-up crew have just returned after spending 5 days clearing and recording marine debris from 7km in Kutini-Payamu National Park! Stoked to see a reduction with just 2 tonnes removed - our lightest load ever from this beach! 337 clean-up bags full of hard plastic fragments, plastic bottle tops, foam packaging, plastic drink bottles and thongs as the top five items! The Tangaroa Blue team successfully diverted 9500 litres of the debris from landfill through recycling and repurposing! Thanks to all the volunteers, QPWS and Land Trust Rangers, Traditional Owners and visitors to the area for their efforts. This #ReefClean event is funded through the Australian Government's Reef Trust.
